The play was translated into English and published under a variety of titles. Michael Meschke, German-born puppeteer who was founder and producer of the Marionetteatern (“Marionette Theatre”) in Stockholm. When Meschke was seven years old, his family fled to Sweden from Danzig, Germany, which had elected a Nazi government.
